Questions
Frequently asked questions
At what age should my child first see an orthodontist?
An orthodontic check-up around age 7 is generally recommended. Many children won't need treatment yet, but an early look helps us spot issues while the jaw is still growing.
Am I too old for braces?
Not at all. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, and adults often choose discreet options such as ceramic braces or clear aligners.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on the complexity of each case. Many treatments take between 12 and 24 months — we'll give you a personalised estimate at your consultation.
Do braces hurt?
You may feel some tenderness for a few days after braces are fitted or adjusted. This is normal and usually eases quickly.
Do you accept medical aid?
Please call the practice on 016 423 1227 to discuss medical aid and payment options for your treatment.
